Rydzyna castle Would you like to stay in a romantic castle? Hold a meeting or conference in a baroque palace? Rydzyna Castle, in western Poland, is now a Hotel and Conference Center. One of the largest ducal palaces in Poland, it is a magnificent example of 17th. Century Baroque architecture, surrounded by a moat.
The 14ha. (34 acres) park has avenues lined with ancient trees and flowering bushes which provide romantic paths for walks. You may enjoy kayaking along the 3km. (2 miles) of moats and adjacent country streams. In addition, bicycles or horses may be rented for riding, not only around the park, but also along traffic-free country roads to nearby villages. One of the favorite destinations is the 19th. century Shooting Lodge located about 15 minutes walk (400m.) from the castle.

Rydzyna is an ideal destination for a holiday, or just a week-end. It is easily reached by car or train and is a choice stop on a tour of Poland. Other Wielkopolska castles and palaces are within easy reach.
The town Rydzyna is an outstanding example of a well preserved small XVIII century community. The Baroque Parish Church, rebuilt in 1751, was designed by the same architects as the Castle. On the outskirts of the town you may see an ancient windmill, one of the very few remaining in the entire province.
